That same passion has now blossomed into her business, which she launched in April 2022. With the support of IDEAME, Iris received training, tools, and Christian discipleship that not only equipped her as a business owner but also strengthened her faith.

Lucy’s Nursery is more than a business—it’s Iris’s way of bringing beauty, life, and sustainability to her community. By selling plants, substrates, clay pots, fertilizers, and offering garden design services, she helps families and businesses across Honduras enjoy the joy of gardening. Her work also carries a deeper purpose: creating jobs, sharing God’s love, and caring for the environment in La Ceiba.

“For me, being an entrepreneur is a great challenge,” Iris shares. “It means starting from scratch, facing obstacles, and transforming my passion into a way of life. It’s about hope, commitment, and serving others through every plant I grow.”

Her dream is to one day build her own greenhouses, becoming a national supplier of plants and materials—a vision that not only strengthens her family but also inspires her community.
